The Bastard and The Tramp
Maika Makovski(2010)

He and I, we were introduced by a common friend named Alfie
It could’ve been 1952
At L.A.’s hot place Mocambo
I put on my lipstick
A bit over the edge
I said “yes, I’m pretty,
but my morals stink”
He’s a bastard and I’m a tramp
We’re drunk and shootin’ guns in swing, swing land
He’s a bastard and I’m a tramp
Sometimes it’s the other way around
As well
He had the most intense of stares
That I have ever encountered
He put down his cigarette
And he took on staring at me
Without taking notice of anyone else
He said across the table
“You and I will do great things”
He’s a bastard and I’m a tramp
We’re drunk and shootin’ guns in swing, swing land
He grabbed me like I was a rag doll and pushed me to the dance floor
He had a wife and I had a date
But we couldn’t keep our hands off
Drunk drivin’ to the horizon
We passed the bottle ’til we got to Idaho
He’s a bastard and I’m a tramp
We’re drunk and shootin’ guns
In swing swing land
He’s a bastard and I’m a tramp
Sometimes it’s the other way around
Around, around, around, around
